HP estimate for 392 with 671 blower?

Post by radman »

I recently purchased a 1934 ford coupe with a 1957 chrysler 392 hemi and 671 weiland blower. Bored .60 over with forged crank and racing pistons. The blower is set at 11 psi. Compression is 8.5. The engine was built in the late 80's and has just over 2000 miles. Runs sweet. I still a little leary of testing the accelleration. Any estimates of hp? 600hp?

what pulleys are u using? 8 mm? If it is running 11psi u are about 14.7 final comp. Whats the cam? Not being a smarty but its spelled Weiand.

I would think 600 is a reasonable estimate. Loong ago, when we only bored'em .030 but stroked'em 5/8 (for 464) , ran .090 down flat tops with 24% overdrive, we figured about 950.

The engine is cammed at .536 lift, 302 duration and overlapping 90 degrees. Sorry about the spelling of Weiand. Apears to have dual 700 carburetors and headers.

Sorry, but I gave some misinformation earlier. The blower is 11% underdriven and has about 6 PSI currently. The pulleys are 3 inch each.

Im getting around 12.54 lbs and 15.6 final comp, but still need the pulley # to get accurate and what about the .050 duration and the centerline of the cam.

Leon,
It has a Norris 356S camshaft. I am not sure what you mean by pulley number. Number of teeth top and bottom? Excuse my ingnorance but blowers are new to me. I don't know the centerline of the cam or the .050 duration. Thanks for your help.

Is it 1/2 in pitch or 8 mm? on the pulleys there is a # on em like 34 or 42 . This tells me exactly what over or underdrive it actually is running.
