392 hemi in a 56 studebaker truck will it fit

anyone have experance with this type of converison. would appreciate any help!

Never done one, and don't know the specifics involved, but back in the "old days", guys stuffed 354's and 392's into 1940's and 50's Stude coupes and sedans all the time and it was a fairly common swap. If a hemi motor could go into the fairly tight confines of a Stude passenger car -- it should go into a similer year Stude truck even easier.

392 conversion

I did a 392 in a 40 ford and here is a few things to consider: placement of the engine and trans combo to have the proper front to rear weight distribution, firewall clearence depth and width, inner fender clearence to the valve covers, radiator and fan clearence and steering linkage to the exhaust and engine. Also boxing the frame to handle the additional torque of the hemi. Hope some of this helps!
