help no oil flow

Post by jim d »

Bought a 392 partially DONE " WHAT A MISTAKE" already found 3 rod bearings damaged, the rocker tubes full of gunk, a regrgird cam with way to much varance in lift. Now after fixing all of that and assembling the engine in the frame  ,I find there is no oil flow to the rocker assemble. also discovered they drilled a hole in the rear gally plug on the drivers side, blocking off that hole still does'nt cause flow to the rocker assem. any ideas wher the blockage lies?

replace galley plug, check under the main cap to see what kind of oiling it is setup for, check to see the oil galley plug is installed in rear of block through the bell side. Clean all the oil flow passages in the rockerarm stands and make sure they are in the propper position. etc etc

Also, if the cam bearings were replaced, they need to have the oiling holes lined up with the passages in the motor on cam journals 2 and 4
