Water pump for 1958 354 poly?

Post by AROWHED »

Need a source for 1958 354 polyhead water pump. (58 Chrysler Saratoga) My current pump began leaking out the weep hole and upon removal, I found it has a Bakelite impellor. Figured it would easily break if I try to pull it off for rebuild. No luck so far with NAPA, Advance, Carquest, Autozoned-out, O-Reillys, Cardone.
Thanx!

Does that have the water pump that resembles a pentagon like a 57-58 392 Chrysler? If so maybe get one for that application. Good Luck

Yep...kind of a round yet pentagon shape, 5 bolt holes, no grease fitting, and not very tall...maybe 5", laying on it's impellor. I have had all these places search for both 354 and 392 applications with no success.

Would the factory installed pump have a Bakelite impellor, or was that popular with rebuilt pumps? I would rather have cast iron impellor, either way.

My 58 Chrysler 392 hemi and my 58 Dodge 325 POLY both have the same "pentagon" water pump. Maybe try to have them look it up under those listings. Those may be a more common listing. You could always get a local rebuilder to help you out by rebuilding your own pump.
