Correct color for 1956 New Yorker 354 Hemi?

Post by ebbsspeed »

I'm in the process of rebuilding my 56 motor, and was wondering what the correct engine colors are. From the paint that was left on the engine, it appears the whole deal was silver, although there were traces of blue on the water pump and the front of the engine. Can somebody give me the correct color scheme, including the oil pan color. Thanks!

I do believe there were silver. Now if I'm not mistaken the hot ones had gold valve covers and breathers where as the milder motors had black breathers. Maybe someone with more knowledge than I, will chime in.

You are correct. Stock color is (argent?) silver for the whole motor except breather, spark plug wire covers, and air cleaner; which were black. Chrysler 300s had gold valve covers and gold air cleaners. Everything else the same color as the other models.
