1956 331 poly overbore

Post by L R Lucas »

Will a 1956 chrysler poly take a .125 overbore. Reason I ask is I have a '56 Windsor with a 331 poly and I have a complete set of '56 hemi heads and since I'm gonna rebuild the engine anyway I thought I might as well make it a 354 Hemi. What do you think?

It's been done many times, the 331's had pretty thick cylinder walls. That being said though, if it were my engine I would get the cylinder walls sonic checked, if nothing else then for peace of mind. That way you know for sure what you have to work with.
