PCV Valve

Post by phil »

On my blown 331 , where would be the best spot to install a pcv valve , in the valley cover ,( hard to because of the gm 671 blower ), or in the rocker covers up high at the back , .I was even thinking of drilling a hole thru the screw in oil cap in the valley cover where you fill it with oil , i have a hotheads cast valley cover with screw in oil cap, this would be the easiest option , but would it work ok in that position?

The OEM set up was the lengh of the valley cover & flow through at that. The best would be a breather on one valve cover & the PCV valve on the other. Valve in the oil cap should work. The bigger distance between inlet & outlet, the better.
