Are big mopar lifters the same as early Chrysler hemi lifters?

Not sure what you mean by 'big' Mopar lifters, but as far as the hydraulic lifters go there is a difference between the early hemi lifters and all the later B,RB and LA engine lifters. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the difference is in the location of the recessed area of the lifter body.

I am going to run a solid cam. By big mopar, I mean big block. 383-440.

Generally the early 361-413 lifters are used. Now, if you set them side by side, they're not exactly the same, but they work.

George is correct.FWIW I know that on hydraulics a change was made about '65-'66 and later 383-440 are
different from the 361-413 style.
