Tips on buying parts Ebay, websites, PAW, HotHeads etc...

Post by Bailiesdad »

Always get the parts magnafluxed before shipping on heavy parts.

Make sure you know exactly what you are buying.

Call the person and talk to them to make sure the part is what you think you are buying.

Arrange the shipping on heavy parts to save money.

Pay a fair price and you can find anything, look for bargains and you will get junk.

NEVER BUY USED RACING EQUIPTMENT UNTIL YOU ARE ASSURED THAT IT IS FUNCTIONAL AND COMPLETE.

When using Ebay make sure the person selling knows what they are selling. Contact them and talk to them about the part. Make sure the people you buy from know what will work with what.

If you buy used parts expect to have to rebuild the parts, or pay for their rebuilding.

Do your own research and look for the parts you need, you will save money. Know what the range of prices are for the parts you are buying and pay accordingly. If you are in a hurry or do not know much expect to pay a little more for the "help" from the people who sell items.

That's good advice for just about anything you're gonna buy that is sight unseen. It's the old addage about, "an ounce of prevention being worth a pound of cure."
