Build up question.

Post by Torpedo »

Got a chance to buy a 49 Ford coupe. It has no motor or tranny. Been toyin' with idea of dropping a blown 392 Hemi in it. Now that would be a real screamer. An it would sure give those T-Bird and Chevy guys somethin' ta think about. What do you guys think? Just curious. Is it a good idea? :o

I'm having a hard time thinking about why you
would not want to drop in a blown Hemi. :)

I say go for it! I'm in the process of gathering parts to build a blown 392, but I probably won't put it in my Cuda to run on the street, I have a hard enough time staying out of trouble with the normally aspirated one in it! I've got a 68 Coronet race car that the blown hemi will go in, then my son and I will do some bonding at the drag strip. :D

:D When I am moving one of my blown boat motors I always carry them in my open Dodge dually. I had some clown acutally ask me (looking at the Cumming Power emblem) if it had a hemi in it. I told him I had the best of both worlds Hemi in the bed Cummings under the hood. That satisfied him. :P
