Early Hemi Dyno time

Post by Moparlee »

Has anybody done some build ups of the 392 and then put them on a dyno to see what they made? Thanks again for your time.

Nobody, has been able to do this? I wish I could afford to do it. I would of liked to of dynoed my 340 to see what it got. I hoping to put it on a rear wheel dyno. Hopefully when I get to be able to build my 392 I can get it done on a engine dyno. I talked to Dulcich about doing a resto to rad on a 392. Hay, he actually liked the idea. So, maybe we can see this in Mopar Muscle Magazine soon. Then we all may get something out of that. What do you guys think of that?

Hi, i'm new to this forum so hello to all members. I am nearing completion on building a 392 that is going to use efi. We will map the efi on an engine dyno which will probably happen early next year. Engine has stock heads, a mild EH20 cam and 10:1 comp. Happy to post results when they are available.

First off welcome, though I'm faily new also.
That's awesome, can't wait. What is a EH20 cam? Who makes it and what are the speaks if you don't mind me asking. Have you ported the heads and are they 392 Heads or they low deck heads like from a 354 or the 331 555 heads? Thanks for your time.

Lee,
Heads are 392 and have SS valves, hardened seats (for unleaded petrol) and the exhaust ports have been tidied up to match the manifold. Inlets have not been modified.
EH20 camshaft (from Hotheads) has .478" lift, 220 duration @ 0.050" and 108degree lobe centres.
I've gone with this combo more for driveability than outright performance.

Chris,
Cool, so you are you running manifolds? Are they the four bolt flange 2.5 outlet ones? I'm going to run a set of those, cause of room in my 86 ramcharger. I was thinking of EFI system also, don't know if I will be able to afford that yet? Sound cool! What you going to put this in?

Lee,

The engine is going into a 32 Ford 3W coupe. Exhaust manifolds are custom made built more for appearance than outright performance. The design is sort of like lakes headers but with the collecter sitting between the engine block and frame rail so when you look at the car from the side all you see is the four pipes angling down and rearwards.
