Money Matters Pushing Nissan To Replace 5.6-Liter V-8 With HEMI V-8 Power In Next Titan
http://www.pickuptrucks.com/html/news/n ... titan.html
Last May, the companies jointly announced that Chrysler would build the next iteration of Nissan's Titan half-ton pickup at Chrysler's plant in Saltillo, Mexico, and that it would be based on the all-new Dodge Ram 1500.

...

Sources tell us the 5.7-liter HEMI is very likely to be part of the final deal with Nissan.

The article has been updated...
Update #2: 09-02-08 15:11 PT

Chrysler LLC chairman Jim Press has confirmed to PickupTrucks.com that the next-generation Nissan Titan, based on the Dodge Ram 1500, will receive a version of Chrysler's 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 gas engine. The 380-horsepower HEMI is the most powerful engine available for the 2009 Dodge Ram 1500.
I'm curious if it will be badged HEMI or not?

Looks like the deal is off, no Nissan HEMIs...

Joint Statement From Nissan and Chrysler
http://media.chrysler.com/newsrelease.do?id=9014&mid=1
Nissan and Chrysler today announced a mutual agreement to end three OEM vehicle-supply projects announced last year.
So instead of Nissan-built small Chryslers we'll get them from Fiat.
I'm not sure if that's worse or better?

Definitely worse. I'd take just about anything built by
Nissan before I'd buy anything designed and built by
FIAT.
