Rumor of Chrysler's Future

I'm told this is from the North Georgia Mopar Club Newsletter...

Bad news from Chrysler; Mopar George told us a story about how he was at Akins Dodge and ran into a couple of Chrysler Execs who happened to be there and was chatting with them about the future of Ma Mopar . . . what they had to say was not good news; The plan is to continue with the overall plan the Germans at Daimler put into place, which was: Do away with any Dodge automobiles, Dodge will only have trucks. Jeep will only have off road vehicles to offer, and Chrysler will only offer cars, what type and size remains to be seen. I confirmed this with Rob Wolf (MCG), tonight as well; he confirmed that this was originally the Germans plan. In addition; he tells me that they plan to cut production by 50%, yes that is a BIG number. Finally, the Germans have put in a bid to purchase Viper. Will they get it, and what will this mean for the Dealers??? Nobody knows. . . . If you want a Challenger, you better get one soon.

Has anyone heard about this? Thoughts? Opinions? Gripes?
