The newly christened Dodge Ram brand is starting off with a bang introducing the heavily-revised Heavy Duty line of Dodge Ram trucks for 2010 with pricing slightly lower than their 2009 counterparts even with more content, meaning you can pick one up for as little as $28,165.
The 2010 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty trucks aren't just a pretty face, one re-sculpted to better resemble their new-for-2009 half-ton sibling. They offer several serious upgrades, including a standard Class IV hitch, optional built-in trailer brake, upgraded towing, payload and axle capacity and the only diesel engine brake offered in their class. Three cab configurations -- Regular, Crew and Mega -- five trim levels -- SL, SLT, TRX, Power Wagon and Laramie -- and two engines -- the 383-hp, 400 lb-ft 5.7L Hemi V-8 and the 350-hp, 650 lb-ft 6.7L Cummins Turbodiesel -- are offered with both six-foot-four-inch and eight-foot boxes and single and dually rear axles.
What's more, you can even save a few bucks on these new trucks. Your base model truck, the Ram 2500 Regular Cab 4x2 with the 5.7L Hemi starts at just $28,165 including the $950 destination charge, a savings of $1,970 over the 2009 model. Or you could bring home a Ram 2500 Crew Cab SLT 4x4 at $39,430 and spend the $40 you'll save over the 2009 model on your first half-tank of gas -- or diesel, as the case may be.
The point is, you've got options. A base Ram Heavy Duty pickup, the Regular Cab 2500, will start at $28,165 and top-out at $34,325. The Crew Cab version of that truck will start you a bit higher at $31,415 and can run up to $43,600 with the Laramie trim and the eight-foot bed. Mega Cab 2500s will start at $36,865 and top out at $44,100.
If a three-quarter-ton truck just won't cut it, your Ram 3500 starts at $35,630 for the Regular Cab and runs up to $42,440. Need more space? The Crew Cab 3500 starts at $39,200 and runs up to $51,095. If that still isn't enough, the Mega Cab 3500 can be had for as little as $45,135 and reach up to $51,595.
