Jeep Wrangler 6x6 Pickup Truck has a HEMI V8 and ... Guns

Maybe this could help me on those slippery boat ramps. When talking six-wheelers available to us civilians, most people automatically think of the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG. Well, you should know the Jeep Wrangler received an extra axle before the Gelandewagen, but the Wrangler mutant isn't factory-built like the Merc, coming from a third-party company instead.
Ladies and gentlemen offroaders (posers are not allowed here), meet the 6x6 Jeep Wrangler, or the JK-generation Wrangler definition of transportation insanity. The oversized Wrangler is 215 inches (5,461 mm) long, 85 inches (2,150 mm) wide and 79 inches (2,007 mm) tall.
The tech details
You can choose between a few technical assets. First of all, power can come from either a Pentastar V6 or a 2013-spec 6.1 Hemi V8 delivering 450 ponies. Depending on how far you plan to drive this thing, you can select between a 30-gallon tank or a 65-gallon one. We have to admit, spending some time alone in the desert with a Hemi doesn't sound bad at all.
The thing is built by California-based Tyrant Motorworks, which explains this is a proper six-by-six, meaning all six wheels can provide traction. The current-generation Wrangler frame has received a lot of work, while at the rear we have a pair of Currie Ford 9-inch diffs (4.88 gearing) with Eatons units with a CV driveshaft.
Up front, the power is split by a custom Dana differential with RCV axles. As for the connection to the soil, this is provided by 17x9 bead lock rims shod in Toyo Open Country rubber than can be had in a 25x12.5 R17 size or in a 38x12.5 R17 size.
Not exactly selling like hot cakes
As for the price, it seems people haven't exactly queued up to buy a 6x6 Wrangler. A V6 model was listed on eBay back in September last year, having a reserve price of $85,000, which, as you've probably guessed, has not been met.
A Hemi V8 model is now looking for a master on Craigslist, being offered for $65,000. For the record, a fully-loaded Wrangler Unlimited in Rubicon Hard Rock 4x4 trim will set you back around $50,000.
Not even the bed at the back, which aims to fill in the pickup truck void in Jeep's line-up didn't appear to have worked as an incentive.
The cold hard truth is that, customization trust issues aside, a machine like this can only be used in remote locations, which is why Mercedes is building a G500 4x4.
PS: because 'Murica, this six-wheeler can also be delivered with any custom bits you may wish for, especially it it's a gun case worthy of a Hollywood blockbuster...
