241 Hemi heads onto 259 Poly block

Post by scottm »

I received this request from a website visitor...
Can you please list the modifications required to fit 241 Dodge Hemi heads to the P27 259 Plymouth Poly block.
Can anyone help us out with some instructions?

The problem is with the notches in the pistons. The polys are notched differently than the hemi. Since there are no 259 hemis, you will have to have the notches enlarged by a machine shop to be sure the valves will clear, or bore for 270 pistons.
Early hemi to late sb Mopar trans adapters. Precision billet parts for early hemis.

What head gaskets to use: 241 Hemi ones or the 259 Poly ones?
I would assume 241 Hemi head gaskets.
But can anyone validate this information?

have to change to the hemi exhaust manifold as well. I am kind of drawing a blank on a "259" CID Plymouth. 56 Fury?
