dodge ignition system

i was wondreing what woud be the best ignition setup to run in my 315.
it's nothing fancy prity much stock, but i whant to take the points out of it. will a late motle chysler distributor fit ? or shoud i run an msd or malory or evan one o those vetecs mags whith the chevy HEI parts in side?
i just don whant to run the sock one.

i installed a later model electronic ignition on my 340 71 barracuda. my only problem is the coil is heating up, resulting to a hard starting car. when you get an answer can you e-mail me, i dont want to post a duplicate title.

Had a similar problem on a pro-street car. Simple solution is to mount the coil on the inside of the firewall. Keeps it away from the heat and within easy reach of the distributor.
