315 Dodge Industrial Hemi

Post by Gullwing »

I just bought a Dodge hemi sight unseen. I was told it was a 315 industrial hemi. The block casting # is 1739429 and the head #1628129.
According to Ron Cerindono's book the block number is for a 325. The head number is not listed but if I assume the seller misread the 8 as a 6 then it is listed as a 315 Industrial head.
The motor has a one barrel and a flywheel and clutch.

What differences can I expect between the car and the industrial motor. Do these heads have the same size valves and runners as the 315/325?
Is the rumor of a higher nickle content true or urban legand? Do these engines have a timing chain tensioner?
