Desoto 330 HEMI on the CHEAP...

Post by Rob »

Here is a very complete Desoto 330 Hemi and transmission local to me for 500 clams. Says it's stuck, but it looks REAL complete.

Just the 4-bbl intakes alone, for DeSotos go for *nearly* that much.

Nope. It's still available. I actually went to look at it and chew the fat with the guy. It's real complete. He seems like a straight shooter too. He builds rods. Gotta lotta cool stuff.

Prerecession the 4 bl intake was going for 7-800. I bought one a while back with Chrome thermostat housing & the Offy squeeze plate, delivered by UPS, for 250. But 500 sounds like a deal. However you'll find that speed parts are rarer than Chr & cost more. Not too bad if you stick to basic rebuild.

The Desoto is a smaller, more compact engine & would be easier to put in a Rod. People will still think you have a 392 if you leave off the DeSoto wire covers! :D
