1954 dodge powersteering oil alternative .

Post by dodge59 » Thu Nov 01, 2012 5:57 pm

just pick up a 54 dodge royal
and after checking the fluids the powersteering calls for 10W oil SAE .. it's pretty clear oil that is in there now. kind of looks like powersteering fluid of today.
To find 10 W motor oil nowadays is impossible.. What would be an alternative for the dodges PS oil ?
Could the powersteering fluid of today works as well ? can it be mixed with the 10W SAE engine oil in there now. ?
Thanks for any info.

Ford type ATF is also a great alternative.
