Heide Performance Products are offering a conversion package for the Dodge Challenger that is designed to resemble the cartoony but legendary Plymouth Road Runner Superbird from the 1970s which ran successfully in NASCAR.

It’ll cost $16,395 for the basic conversion that includes a new nose with pop-up headlights, aluminium hood featuring an air scoop, new rear lights, huge 20-inch wheels and that massive rear-wing.

Pay a little extra for a performance boost too with three supercharges offered for the SRT8’s standard 6.1-litre HEMI V8, plus suspension modifications (the cars is lowered by 3.5 inches) and a Magnaflow exhaust.

There are other features and options too including seat inserts and logos, custom manual gear shifter, floor mats, unique instrument cluster, colour-matched interior trim and badging as well as ground effets and custom seats.

I'm sure they'll catch hell from hard core wing fans, but I think it's cool. 8)

Lots of folks in a LinkedIn group I'm in are NOT fans!
I don't see it as something you'd drive to work daily but
this would certainly get attention at weekend cruise-ins!

I'm shocked and surprised that I actually
like it.....but I do!! I give it a definite
"thumbs-up"! :)

PS. I wonder if Chrysler actually
decided to produce some Challengers
like this, if NASCAR would still try to
legislate them out of existence this
time around????

Hmmm?? Maybe Chrysler could convince
NASCAR that it's not a wing.....that it's a
really a giant towel rack or something.
Yeah..that's ticket :D .....it's a "towel
rack - and it has nothing to do with
aerodynamics
"!!!<LARGE EVIL GRIN>
  LOL!
