New from aFe Power are performance headers and Y-pipes offering a 20hp boost for 2009-14 Dodge Ram Trucks with V8-5.7L HEMI engines.

The high-flowing 1-5/8”, 16-gauge, 409 stainless steel headers use unique 4-to-1 mitered merge collectors which eliminates the flow-blocking turbulence seen on formed collectors and retain the stock catalytic converters for a direct bolt-on installation, aFe says. The 100 percent TIG-welded construction is designed for strength and durability, while the 3/8” thick, one-piece flanges prevent warpage to ensure a leak-free seal over the life of the vehicle.

To match the headers, aFe Power offers a 3” to 3-1/2”, 49-state legal catted y-pipes. The performance y- pipes are offered in both 409 stainless steel for durability or in aluminized steel for economic value.

The y- pipes have a true merge collector to eliminate dead space that can cause turbulence and hinder flow that formed collectors are prone to produce. These headers incorporate high-glow 300 cell catalytic converters for better flow without CEL lights.

These systems are designed to fit in the stock location incorporating the OE hanger, flange, and O2 sensor locations includes all necessary hardware for a hassle-free installation.

When combined in testing, the header and y-pipe combination resulted in a max gain of 20 horsepower and 30 lbs. ft. of torque as verified on aFe’s in-house dyno, according to the company.

The headers (P/N 48-42001) retail for around $786.45 and the y-pipe w/cats (P/N 49-42036) retails for around $1206.45. Both are available in stores now.
