Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat E85 Conversion is Good for 886 HP at the Crank

On any given day, the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and its 4-door sedan brother are the bee’s knees in terms of muscle. With 707 ponies and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) sent to the rear axle, who in the name of all things holy needs more than that?

Apparently, many people do. Hellcat tuning jobs and dyno runs are pretty popular these days. The video we’re covering today makes no exception from that rule. Serious HP got their hands on a Hellcat-spec Challenger and turned the madness up to eleven.

We all know that the 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 is capable of much more than what Dodge is offering in standard format, but 886 horsepower at the crank is just insane for a road-going muscle car.

Thanks to an E85 conversion, the tuner was able to squeeze the aforementioned figure and 753 RWHP on top of it all. Compared to a standard Hellcat running 93 octane jungle juice, this simple conversion stands for an 81 horsepower gain. In terms of torque, E85 massaged another 70 lb-ft (95 Nm) from the HEMI.

However, the E85 conversion isn’t the only enhancement that made this power bump possible.

According to Serious HP, the gas plus 85% ethanol kit is complemented by a more potent fuel pump, an upgraded ECU, larger capacity injectors and some minor improvements to the driveshaft. If Serious HP will be able to come up with a different software for the eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF, the HEMI’s output should increase dramatically.

What's next for the Hellcat's tower-of-power? 1,000 HP tuning jobs? Never say never...
753-rwhp after an E85 conversion. That's pretty dang impressive!
