Charger Widebody Design Concept To Debut At Spring Fest 14

We told you on Tuesday, that the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Product Design Office might be bringing the 2020 Dodge Charger SRT HELLCAT Widebody that has been spotted on public roads to the SoCal LX Spring Fest 14 in Southern California this weekend. Well, it now looks to be official. Several employees of the FCA Product Design Office have been posting pictures of what they are dubbing a “Dodge Charger Widebody Concept” for this weekend’s events.

For the first time, we are seeing high-res images of the design study of the upcoming widebody Charger. The design concept shows a revised front fascia, pulling a lot of styling elements from the Dodge Durango SRT. Although the front looks very similar to the current non-widebody Charger performance models, the lower outer intakes are much bigger. The front fascia looks wider thanks to the widebody flares bending into the front fascia. It gives the car a more aggressive look when looking from the front on.

The side profile of the Charger Widebody looks more subtle than its two-door Challenger Widebody sibling. Where the Challenger Widebody flares look like an afterthought to the design, the Charger Widebody flares blend into the body much more naturally. This design study of the Charger Widebody shows off a newly designed twin 5-spoke 20-inch aluminum wheel design. While the “devil’s rim” wheels on the Challenger Widebody models are also a twin 5-spoke design, the Charger Widebody wheel spokes are thinner. The wheels remind us of the Alcoa wheel design found on the Charger Daytona 392, Challenger T/A 392 and Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320.
This is going to be an awesome addition to the Charger line-up!
