Hi
What problems are there associated with putting a marine Hemi 354 into a hotrod. I have heard that there are extra holes in the water jacket. Would these create a problem. Any idea what gearboxes would mate up to this engine? Any help at all would be much appreciated including solutions.

The crankshaft will be drilled from the snout to the front main bearing journal oiling system, You gotta plug that, the front of the crank will not have the step for a timing gear, you gotta weld that, the & right left hand rotation engines will need new cam, inetemediate shaft, and distibutor.
Good Luck getting the gear case gear off the front of the crankshaft, it is .005 press fit solid steel on solid steel. You have to heat the gear and chill the crank to get them off. Never seen a home shop guy accomplish the task. Thise bearing on the gear are zero tollerance bearings that are very very expensive, also.
Other than the above and the heads having a different heat riser opening, everything internally is useable.
George ever get the Hemi n the stang?
