Postby curious canuck » Wed Jan 19, 2011 2:01 am

My father has 2 Chrysler Royal Marine Engines with transmissions attached that he purchased at auction 25yrs ago, he's looking to move them but doesn't know anything about them. These are Blue paint Hemi's or Poly. I don't have any pictures from him nor did he supply any other info
Model:44R0404
Serial:2118
Model:44R0304
Serial:2143

Any help would be appreciated

M44S-3 should be a Dodge 270. The R means reverse rotation.

Thank you both for your replies.

As these are both in rough shape having sat for 25yrs my next project is to find out if they are worth anything with transmissions or if they are just scrap.

W hat's your definition of rough? Were they run in fresh or salt water? If salt they may be rusted too badly inside. Fresh probably not. Take em apart & find out what is still good. Assuming a boat tranny, it may have value to boat guys, an OEM car tranny same comment but probably a lot less than the boat one(just guessing!)

I have been selling off the marine components of mine to make back the money I paid for them. They were run in fresh water and sat in storage for 4 decades. Mine are in great shape inside. They are like time capsules. :)
