When speaking about combustion chambers we are selldome talking combustion chambers. What I mean is that there Ãs so much more to combustion chamber shape than just combustion.hemi_426 wrote:are hemi heads basicly the best you can go for a car?because a website said that they are not the best
4 valves and high compression sets the limit for the design of the chamber. The plug is beeing located where it has to be (even if it is a great place in the 4 valve case). The quench area is a result of the valve location, etc.
What if the swirl, flowing over 4 valves etc was already done, what shoud be the ideal combustion chamber design, just to burn the charge, shape then? Well, we would not be to fare away from the hemispherical shape. Take a close look at a model airplane 6-10 cc 2 stroker engine reving 35 grand that does not need to take any valves in to concidertion.
